SWIM JETS – A GREAT ADDITION TO YOUR POOL FOR EXERCISE AND FUN!

Here at Falcon Pools, we are finding that there is a lot of demand for us to install Swim Jets into both our new and existing pools. So, we thought we would share with you a short guide to give you more information about what Swim Jets are, how they work and their benefits, so you can make an informed decision on if they are right for you, your pool and your lifestyle.

WHAT IS A SWIM JET?

A Swim Jet is a great way to enhance any swimming pool whatever its size and shape. They create a strong underwater current in your pool which you can swim against, particularly convenient if you have a small pool that you want to use for exercise. Simply speaking, they turn your pool into the swimming equivalent of a treadmill!

HOW DO THEY WORK?

Swim Jets push large quantities of water through jets creating a strong current for you to swim against. They allow you to have a proper water-based workout at your own pace, with controls to adjust the strength and speed of the current produced. Some also have different settings, such as massage settings for a hydrotherapy experience.

HOW ARE THEY INSTALLED?

There are a couple of different models available on the market. All have slightly different specifications, so It is important to know what you are looking for. Most are surface mounted and fitted to the wall of your pool.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

There are many benefits of installing a Swim Jet, with perhaps the foremost relating to health and fitness. The majority of swimming pools will allow for about 6 strokes before having to turn around, whereas Swim Jets allow a continuous swimming experience, just like being in open water. With a Swim Jet, you can have a great, efficient workout in your own pool.

Swim Jets are also great for doing aqua aerobics and hydrotherapy, a proven method of injury recovery. Remedial exercises done in the pool are easy on the joints and muscles, making them perfect for rehabilitation. Other fitness uses include triathlon training and they can also be combined with underwater treadmills for a complete pool workout!

Swim Jets aren’t just for fitness, they’re great for fun and relaxation. You can create a river or even a choppy water effect, adding a whole new dimension of fun to your pool and great for children.
